A Perk of Being Your Own Boss

One of the perks of working at home and being your own boss is being able to set your own schedule. I love that I can arrange my hours and even cut back on them a bit at Christmas so that I can have time to enjoy the holiday. If I were in a traditional job I would be frantically trying to make up time from being away. With the way I work, as long as I a happy with what is in my check book I don't have to make anything up. Of course, many say the downside of that is no steady dependable paycheck coming in. My answer to that is whose job do you think is stable in this economy anyway?

Decorating Over

The decorations are up and the tree is done. I was not sure how much we would get done this year with my husband's surgery but we at least got something up! lol I have never done any of the outdoor stuff, that is his department and I am in charge of the inside. Very tradition, I know, but it works for us.

I brought some of the lights in and we checked them for dead bulbs at the kitchen table. Then I pulled one of the deck chairs around to the front and he played director from there. Ladders are not my favorite things but I managed to accomplish the task with no broken bones. I'm just glad it put a smile on his face to see it.

Go Find Them!

I am the sort of person who likes for everyone to find their mate. I should have been a matchmaker. Even thought I'm not one, I try to do my part. So if you are looking for someone, pay attention.

There is a website that I heard about to help you find local singles called LocalMatch.com. Yes, I said local. Not someone across the country that you are going to have to figure out how to see. You can go to their site and look specifically in your area for Free Local Singles. It is time for you to find your perfect match, give it a shot!

I Wonder What It Means?

We got our Christmas tree up. My mother would not approve. According to her if you have it up all month then it's not special on Christmas. I see it the other way. It is special all month. Why just limit that to a week? I guess it's a typical mother daughter thing, we each want our own way.

I'm an all out, fill every branch don't leave anything undecorated type of decorator. If there's a space on a branch I fill it. I want the whole tree sparkling with lights and glitter. I have been collecting hand blown glass ornaments for years. I wonder what my decorating style says about me? That I like to indulge myself? Whateve it means, to me it means Happy Holidays!

Sprucing Up The House

We have decided to spruce up the outside of the house. I have always though it was a little plain and that it would benefit from some vinyl shutters. My husband has finally agreed.

I found a website called Larson's ExteriorShutterSource.com with a great selection of vinyl shutters. They have exactly the ones I like by Mid-America Exterior. The prices are great. And they have free shipping on orders over $225. How can I pass that up? I can't wait to see how they are going to look.

I'm Back

I was out of town for a few days. My husband had to go for a follow up visit with his surgeon in Gainesville. The report was good so we don't have to go back, he was released to his cardiologist. I am so thankful he is recovering well!

I am glad that things have calmed down now and that I can get back to my routine. Working at home as a freelancer if I don't work I don't make money. That is one of the drawbacks to working from home. There is no sick leave, or family leave or vacation. But for me the advantages outweigh that.

Showing Some Love

With the holiday weekend I have actually had some leisure time. And what do I do with my leisure time? Why, spend it on the internet, of course! LOL You would think that I would be sick of the computer after working on it but that is not the case. I still love to read blogs.

Since I have blogs on my mind I thought I would share some links with you. I have a huge list so maybe you will find something to your taste. If not, you visited some fun blogs, not a bad way to spend time. LOL
